Flathead Deaf Club Bylaws

MISSION: To promote fellowship and social activities for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals of the Flathead Valley.

ARTICLE 1 Officers

Section 1. The President shall preside at all meetings. He/she shall appoint committees as needed. He/she shall sign written permission to all orders on the Treasurer.

Section 2. The Vice President shall do the duties of the President whenever the president is absent or unable to act. The Vice President shall chair the Bylaw committee.

Section 3. The secretary shall keep a correct record of the minutes of all meetings. He/she shall do all official correspondence wishes of the club.

Section 4. The treasurer shall receive all money (club dues and fundraising) belonging to the club. The money shall be deposited in a bank with checking and savings accounts. He/she shall keep records of paid-up members. He/she shall keep a minute account of all receipts, expenditures, and assets. He/she shall have the president's signature first before spending as agreed by the members. The board of officers shall examine and audit all the financial transactions in the Treasurer's books as needed.

ARTICLE 2 Dues and Fees

Section 1. Membership shall be from September 1 to August 31 of each year.

Section 2. Membership dues shall be ten dollars ($10). New members after March 1st will pay $5 for the remainder of the year. Non-member visitors shall pay $1 for each meeting attended.

Section 3. Any deaf or hard-of-hearing individual and their spouse is eligible to join the club to participate in business meetings and voting.

ARTICLE 3 Business Meetings

Section 1. Quorum - the President and/or Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer plus 3 or more members shall be sufficient for a business meeting.

1. Welcome
2. Officers' reports
3. Secretary's minutes

4. Treasurer's report
5. Old business
6. New business
7. Announcements, Good Will
8. Adjournment
